Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
Selvun is built privacy-first. Your identity data is the most personal data you have, so the app is local-first: it works fully on your device, and nothing syncs to the cloud unless you choose to sign in.
What we collect
- Your answers to the in-app questions, and how quickly you answered them.
- Reflections you write. Voice reflections stay on your device by default.
- Missions you complete and the identity/archetype the app forms with you.
- An email address only if you choose to sign in (via Sign in with Apple).
- A coarse timezone, to time gentle observations. No precise location.
What we never collect
Precise location, contacts, health records, your real name, or advertising identifiers. We do not run ads, and we never sell your data.
How your reflection is generated
To write your reveal, a server sends a structured summary of your own answers (never your email or account identity) to our AI provider, OpenAI. The result is validated before it reaches you. If AI is unavailable, a fully on-device fallback is used instead.
Service providers
- Supabase — stores your synced data and handles sign-in, if you opt in.
- OpenAI — receives answer-derived context to write your reveal.
Your voice stays yours
Voice reflections are stored only on your device. They never leave it unless you explicitly opt into cloud sync of audio.
Deleting your data
You can delete everything at any time from within the app. Deletion removes your cloud data and wipes local data on the device. Deletion is permanent.
Children
Selvun is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We’ll update this page if our practices change, and revise the date above.
